Had a gr8 thyme at mom’s bae-s-mint tonight. We were on the patty-o the whole Time. Only 1 person in the bathroom at a time! Probably a good policy. Gr8 vibe. We have 5 people here: Bon, Bon, on, cheese, and Mr stinky. Good crew. Had fun! Will be back tomorrow! See u then. Thanks. Horrible Photo Of Us.

My hands down favorite dive! If ya haven't been to Moms, you should visit! Service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and retro. Imagine a typical suburban basement with a bar & that's Mom's! Walls filled with pics of ... Moms! What Else?! Ha! It's very nostalgic for kids of the 70s & 80s or fans thereof.

You know what you are getting when you come here. Simple and direct. (Watch out if you think you can shoot pool -- there are several people here who will show you you really can't.)

Initially when I first came here, this place wasn't my vibe. But I was coming at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and getting the College Crowd, which just hasn't ever been my thing. Every other time, however, has been exactly what I needed. The happy hour rates are excellent, the service is immaculate, and the general vibe is just so comforting. It's truly starting to become my home away from home, and I truly have no complaints. Whitney is absolutely my favorite bartender, with Ben in at a close second. All of the owners have shown nothing but kindness to everyone who comes through the door, and the vast majority of the regulars are friendly, down-to-earth people. It's really not hard to make a new friend here. I truly, 100% recommend coming to Mom's Basement for the weeknight crowd. A truly pleasurable experience!

This unique spot welcomes you with open arms, channeling a nostalgic vibe with its retro decor reminiscent of a classic suburban basement. Imagine walls adorned with photos of beloved moms and an atmosphere that feels like a reunion of old friends. Here, the essence of leisure and enjoyment is palpable.

As I stepped inside, I was immediately drawn to the laid-back ambiance. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, sip a drink expertly crafted by the attentive bartenders, and revel in the old-school charm. Reviews echo my sentiments: patrons praising the chill atmosphere and addictive pinball machines that provide endless entertainment. With comments from visitors like John Kutteh and Luan Brashaw, it's clear that a night at Mom's is about more than just libations—it's about community and camaraderie.

On any given night, the karaoke sessions draw a lively crowd, with young voices belting out tunes that turn the bar into a concert hall. Thursdays, in particular, have carved out a reputation for unforgettable karaoke experiences, as noted by excited guests eager to showcase their talents amidst cheering friends. Don't be surprised if a friendly game of pool also brings unexpected challenges—something John Hintz warns newcomers about—it's all part of the fun!

But Mom's Basement isn't just about the atmosphere; it's the heart and soul served on every plate and in every drink. While the menu is uncomplicated, it emphasizes quality and comfort, aligning perfectly with the dive bar culture. Each visit promises a familiarity that feels like coming home, whether you're sharing laughs with a crew of regulars or making new friends over a round of drinks.

In conclusion, Mom's Basement is more than just a bar; it’s a cozy retreat where nostalgia and modern leisure intertwine. So gather your friends—whether they’re called Bon, Bon, on, or Mr. Stinky—and dive into a slice of Birmingham that feels just like home. This is the destination you didn’t know you were missing, where every night can turn into a cherished memory. Don't miss your chance to check it out; you might find yourself returning as often as the regulars do!
